About
I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Istanbul Bilgi University, where I have been on the faculty since 2015, and since 2023 I have also taught as adjunct faculty in Software Engineering and AI at the American University of Kyiv. I received my B.Sc. from Eastern Mediterranean University and my M.Sc. and Ph.D. from Boğaziçi University, all in Electrical and Electronics Engineering. My doctoral work, carried out within the TETAM project, focused on robust ultra-wideband transceiver integrated circuits.
My research is about low-power integrated circuits that bring sensing, computation and wireless communication together. Over the past five years it has followed three main threads. Energy-efficient radios: configurable, high-data-rate IR-UWB transmitters with integrated baluns, digital transmitters with linear spectrum control, and low-power LNA front-ends in 130/180-nm CMOS. Biosensor interfaces: wireless, electrodeless QCM and QCM–VNA systems for microfluidic sensing and liquid-biopsy cancer mutation detection, and high-accuracy potentiostat read-out circuits. Neuromorphic hardware: ultra-low-power subthreshold neuron circuits, neuromorphic logic, spiking neural networks with optical input, configurable FitzHugh–Nagumo neuron circuits, and neuromorphic wireless read-out for multi-parameter sensors.
Beyond circuit design, I work on deep learning for food recognition, including the publicly released Segmented UEC Food-100 dataset, and most recently on magnet design for particle accelerators. This work has been funded by TÜBİTAK (1001 and 1002-A programs) and the Istanbul Bilgi University Research Fund. I am a member of the Microsystems and VLSI research groups at Bilgi and teach undergraduate and graduate courses ranging from applied circuits, microelectronics, power electronics and communication electronics to research methods and ethical writing.
